Welcome message from the president of the WFLD

Welcome to the 12th congress of the World Federation for lasers Dentistry (WFLD) in Dubai 2010.
We are the membership organisation representing the speciality of the laser-applied dentistry worldwilde. The WFLD is structured into five majour divisions, sich are the North American, South American, european, Middle East and Africa and the Asian Pacific division. Within these five divisions a number of national societies and individual members are incorporated.

The mission of our society is to stimulate the research in the different fields of laser-applied dentistry, to coordinate long-term clinical studies using lasers as main instrument during the treatment, and to establish an educational foundation for dentists who are intending to use or are already using lasers in their daily treatments.

Furthermore it is my intention to support the integration of national dental laser societies in their national dental associations, in order to promote the beneficial use of lasers in the different dental disciplines.

The scientific strength of the WFLD is the huge worldwide network of universities, institutes and specialists working in the different research areas of laser dentistry. The strength of private practitioners, being member of the WFLD, is to be supported by evidence based treatment concepts, which have been developed by a team of WFLD specialists.

Being responsible to lead the WFLD to the upcoming world congress 2010 in Dubai, it is a great joy and honour for me to know that Index Holding under the chairmanship of Mr Abdul Salam al Madani is not only going to organise UAE International Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition - AEEDC Dubai, but also being responsible for the organisation of our WFLD world congress.

It is my wish and desire that all dental laser users and researchers around the world are going to acept my cordially invitation to joins us in Dubai 2010, to make this upcoming WFLD congress an unforgettable event.

On behalf of Middle East and Africa division of WFLD and the Organizing Committee of DUBAI CONGRESS 2010 welcome to the “Let your light shine” Congress.

Since September 1991, the introduction of laser in dentistry began in the Arab region at Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; it has been my pleasure to provide the most updated information regarding the applications of Lasers to our fellow colleagues.
Since 1988, the World Federation for Laser Dentistry WFLD (Formerly ISLD) congress has been held once every two years in different parts of the world. The congress has succeeded to bring together leading clinicians and researchers in laser dentistry for exchange and dissemination of scientific knowledge. High quality scientific programs are organized to update our knowledge in laser technology. Today, the WFLD Congress has become the most important international conference in the Laser world.
With the tremendous support from the executive committee of the WFLD, and Index Holding in Dubai, Dubai will be hosting the XII international congress. We have invited internationally renowned scientists from all over the world to come and share with us their vision and passion; together we will celebrate the 22nd birthday of WFLD.

This is a golden opportunity to find out which laser is best suited to your needs. We warmly invite you to join us at the congress and welcome the participation from all dentists, researchers, dental hygienists, dental surgery assistants, dental technicians and manufacturers.
